Duke was found in town and is looking for his owners. He is an adult pure male GSP. If he is not claimed he will go up for adoption on Monday January 5th. So far he seems ok with other dogs. He has not been tested for temperament but seems like he would do good.

Rufus is a handsome, energetic 1.6 year old, black and ticked, neutered German Shorthaired Pointer. He will love to be adopted by a very active family who will give him lots of vigorous exercise, such as long vigorous walks, chasing waves or just chasing a Frisbee. His manners with other dogs need some improvement, and he also needs to be taught to walk on a leash. If you have a lot of experience with dogs and the time to train Rufus, he may be the perfect dog for you.

Cosmo is a 6 year old English Pointer who was originally rescued as a small pup. He's being returned to us from Ohio. His family is devastated to give him back, but want to do the best thing for him, since they cannot provide the attention and exercise he needs.

Farley is a lovely, active 1-2 year old neutered male Pointer. He’s about 50 pounds and is just a love. He is very goofy, sweet and entertaining. He is 100% Pointer – he loves to run and run all day, and loves to get dirty.

This boy loves to chase birds and lizards and is very good outside in the yard. He plays well with other dogs and would be very happy with another young dog and/or an active family. A bit shy at first to new people and situations, but warms up quickly.

Farley is housebroken, great in the car and sleeps on a doggie bed or crate at night. He’s just a delightful, handsome boy. His pictures don’t do him justice! Come and meet Farley!

Due to his high prey drive, no cats please. Children 6 and up.

Ollie is an 8 year old 55 pound male GSP. He's a loveable, huggable boy and his ears are so very soft! He loves to be loved, and loves to follow his humans all around. Ollie is sweet and very gentle.

It seems that this boy has lived most of his life outdoors, but is learning house manners in his foster home. Ollie is crate trained and good with other dogs, enjoying dogs his own age best.  He would love an active family to call his own. He used to have seizures, but they are now controlled with medication that costs only $5 per month!  Children 5 and up, no cats please.

Turbo (also known as Oscar) is a total pacifist and loving sweetheart. He's a happy boy and just wants to be friends with everyone. This gentleman is now 66 pounds and in great shape.  The vet estimates him to be about 13 and has advised us against neutering him due to his age. He came into rescue quite ill, and now he is doing so well! He plays fetch and catch with himself when excited. He is a very happy and affectionate dog. His energy has returned with the good care he is receiving, and he's the first of the GSPs in his home ready for a walk in the morning! Turbo gets along well with other dogs and kids of all ages.

Turbo is famous!  He appeared on the front page of the Press Democrat (the local paper where he's being fostered) and you can see his picture on his blog!

Katie is an approximately 4 year old female GSP who is very much a people-dog. She’s already doing well with her house manners, and her foster home tells us she grudgingly stays off the furniture. So far she’s exhibiting a strong drive to chase things that move like cats, birds, and squirrels. Katie is recovering from kennel cough and is will be ready to meet potential adopters in a few weeks.

Children 6 and up.

Boy is a young male GSP, we’re estimating about 3 years old. He’s beautiful, well-formed, sturdy, and has lovely markings. His demeanor is sweet and gentle. Boy has just begun to learn some house manners and leash walking. He loves to play ball and will bring it back to be thrown over and over again!

Children 6 and up, still being evaluated regarding cats.

Brinkley is a sweet, 6-8 year old, neutered male GSP. He is a very affectionate boy who loves to be with his humans. He is well mannered and always wagging his tail. He is happy alone or with another dog around his age and size and is ok with dog savvy cats.

Brinkley weighs about 50 pounds and could use a few more. He is housebroken, great in the car and sleeps on a doggie bed or crate at night. He’s just a delightful boy. Brinkley loves going for a ride in the car and to the dog park.

Children 6 and up.

Dot is an approximately 6 year old female who has a wonderful disposition! She’s just over 50 pounds and needs to put on some pounds now that she’s out of the shelter and getting over pneumonia.

Children 6 and up, has not been tested with cats.

Stevie is an adorable young male GSP estimated to be about 10 months old. At just under 40 pounds, he still has some growing to do. Stevie is working on learning house manners and some basic commands. He’s great with other dogs, very playful.

Children 10 and up, has not been tested with cats.

Polly is a 6 year old spayed female who is super cute, sweet and very soft. She's a petite 43 pounds and could stand to add 5 or so more. She's a playful little gal who likes to roll around on her back and play with toys. Polly is a good girl and only chews on things she's supposed to. She gets along with cats and other dogs. Children in Polly's home should be at least 10 years old. Polly would love to have a forever home where her people are around a lot. Walking Polly's great fun because she doesn't pull on the leash!

Bud, Budddy is a wonderful, neutered, 7 to 9 year old male GSP. He is a loveable boy! Buddy loves to play fetch, and is good with children. He is 75 pounds, and very tall for a GSP. Not an ounce of fat on this boy!

If you have ever debated whether you wanted a GSP or a Bloodhound, this is the boy for you! Big, gorgeous, lots of jowls, and some slobber. He’s an absolutely attentive and athletic dog. He loves his people!

Buddy loves to play fetch with a tennis ball! He brings the ball back, drops it, and is ready for another round. Check out his videos!

Buddy is housetrained, great with other dogs, but no cats or fuzzy little creatures please.
This boy is one gentle giant! This is an amazing boy who has turned everyone he meets into a GSP lover, especially the shelter staff who let us know about him! Thank you to them for working to save gentleman! He is a keeper! You have to meet Buddy to appreciate the size of his feet, nose and ears! He’s soft, gentle and handsome!

Belinda is a very nice solid liver female GSP estimated to be between 6 and 8 years old. She’s sweet and knows basic commands. While she’s active during the day, Belinda enjoys a good 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep at night. She will chase cats if they are moving, but does not actively “hunt” them if they are still.

Children 6 and up, dog-savvy cats only.

Duke is a gorgeous 5-7 year old, 69 pound, neutered male GSP. He is wonderful with other dogs and has shown no interest w/ the cat on the other side of the glass door. Duke loves to play fetch, so if you have a yard and a Chuck-it, he's very happy with a few sessions of fetch with a tennis ball twice a day, or a home with room to run.

Duke will do best in a home experienced with high energy breeds. He is a powerful, athletic boy. He is very loveable, affectionate and loves his hugs, but he needs someone who can keep his playfulness in check. He would be a great addition to a ranch or a home with acreage. He can keep up with an active home, but also loves a good nap or two during the day. Duke is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night.

Duke is accustomed to country living and would not be suited for a urban setting.
