Become a Volunteer

We are always in need of volunteers!  Volunteering does not have to mean a large time commitment. A range of opportunities is available, some ideas are listed below. If you only have a couple of hours to give each month or two, you might like to help with a showcase day or a garage sale.  If you have more time to give, perhaps you’d like to become more involved in our ongoing functions.

Helping with the dogs – transporting dogs, supervising dogs at public events, bathing dogs prior to showcase days.

Helping with other activities to help the dogs – helping with garage sales and other fundraising activities, posting flyers, assisting with marketing and outreach activities, data entry for database management, website updating.

To become a volunteer, complete this application or for questions, email volunteer@NorCalGSPrescue.com.

Junior Volunteer Program

This program is geared for volunteers under the age of 18 who may need community service hours for school or church, or who wish to volunteer their time for a good cause. Junior volunteers report directly to our Junior Volunteer Coordinator.

Junior volunteers help with community outreach and awareness, fundraising activities and our annual GSP Get-Together. Although Junior Volunteers aren’t able to work directly with the dogs, we do our best to ensure the activities are enjoyable for everyone involved.

To become a juniorvolunteer, complete this application and have a parent or guardian co-sign it. For questions, email juniorvolunteer@NorCalGSPrescue.com.

Other ways you can help:

Download and Print this NorCal GSP Rescue flyer and post on public announcment bulletin boards (eg: local dog parks, vet's office, coffee shop, library, smoothie shop & more)

Also consider becoming a foster home.

"I adopted my first dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer in 1999 and fell in love with how sweet and fun-loving these dogs are. I am unable to foster right now, but want to help, so I have volunteered my time by working on this Web site, producing flyers to spread-the-word and working at garage sales to raise money. ”
